Unlike the consumer marketplace, penetration of wireless technology in the healthcare device industry has been limited due to a lack of disposable physiologic wireless sensors that can compete on various fronts with today's "cabled" disposable sensors deployed by hospitals and clinics. Such competitive wireless sensors have not been possible due to several key limitations with current wireless chips which include, relatively high cost, high power consumption, poor data integrity and footprint (size).

HealthMicro’s REACH™ technology seeks to address these limitations through an innovative solution created specifically for healthcare device applications by combining advanced telecommunication radio architectures with the high integration and economies of scale of semiconductor processes. The result is a cost effective, disposable, ultra low power, high fidelity end to end solution enabling the design of competitive wireless sensors and healthcare systems

The REACH™ platform will allow healthcare device manufacturers to produce fully disposable wireless sensors and corresponding wireless adaptors for existing monitoring equipment replacing today’s cumbersome “wired” systems.
